I had an interesting conversation with Mila this morning. She asked me why I didn't have a baby in college and I told her it was because I wasn't married yet. Here is what followed:
Mila: You were just a human
Me: Um..yes.
Mila: But when did you be a mermaid?
Me: I said married... I wasn't married in college...
Mila: I know...but when did you be a mermaid?
Me: I was never a mermaid. I've always been human.
Mila: Why?
Me: Umm because...uh cause...
Mila:(yelling) Why?!? Cause is not a reason!
Me: (Laughing) okay, you're right-cause is not a reason. I guess I wasn't a mermaid because I was born human and I don't have flippers or anything.
Mila: Vienn's Mommy was a mermaid...I saw a picture.
Me: Really? That was probably just pretend...
Mila: No, it was real...she was away from the water.
So I'm not sure where she saw a picture of my friend as a mermaid, but I'm pretty sure Summer (Vienn's mommy) has never been a mermaid. Maybe I should I check with her to make sure. Ha ha I think Mila was a little disappointed that I was never a mermaid. I love these conversations with her more and more as she gets older and starts trying to figure things out. I need to be quicker with my responses though.

Random March Photos
Here are a few pictures from last month. I only have one more final and a paper to do, so I thought I would take a couple minutes to update this blog. March was a busy and fun month. Here are some of the highlights!
I went to check on Mila one night and this is what I found. All her animals were arranged and tucked in around her and on the pillow. She is so cute and loves all her stuffed animals. She takes such good care of them.

Fairy Tea Party
Every year the Provo Library has a Fairy Tea party as a fundraiser. This year Mila got to go with her friends and she was very excited about it. I arrived late(because I was taking the MPRE) so I missed the fairy processional, but she had fun. There was a ballet performance and fairy snack(cheese, muffin, strawberry and a cookie). I know she is dressed like a princess, but this was the best I could do with moving and everything. A lot of people were really decked out...moms too.
Olive, Mila, Emma, and Abby with the fairy King and some fairies.
My little Belle...she loved the wand and the necklace she got too. I am sure we will be back next year!

Mila the Fashonista(sort of)
Mila has always had an opinion about what she wanted to wear, but only recently has that opinion become almost immovable. I have tried everything, but if I want the morning to go smoothly it is easier to just let her pick out her clothes. So we have worked out a compromise--if she gets dressed completely by herself then she can pick out her clothes. I have veto power, but will only use it(usually) if she isn't dressed warm enough. So she has embraced layers, and she only wants to wear skirts or dresses. I am trying to implement "pant days" but sometimes it isn't worth the trouble. Needless to say she has gone to school in some interesting ensembles. Here are a few of them:
Not too bad, but the heart patterned long sleeve shirt is an interesting choice.
This one cracks me up. She likes to be multi-colored.
My little ray of sunshine. Oh yeah on this morning it had snowed about 4 inches. She has layers on and I asked her what she was going to do when she played outside at preschool. She responded by telling me she would stuff her skirt into her snow pants.

Here she is pretending to be asleep. Also in a variety of colors. Pink shirt, purple skirt, black leggings with red, green, blue, and white dots on them.

Ice Castles at Zermatt Resort
I know I skipped Christmas, but I am probably not even going to try to catch up. Between Finals and Christmas I got a little behind. But I will try to post some in the future. On Saturday, January 30th, Mila and I went to Zermatt Resort near Midway to look at these huge ice creations/castles/ sculptures. It was really cold, but it was fun to walk around and look at these amazing creations. Thanks to my friend Tashina for thinking up the idea and getting us to do something interesting for once. We also had hot chocolate and pastries at a bakery at the resort and got to talk to the artist a little bit. Mila loved looking at everything.
